Travel with wonder & purpose
The modern age of expedition.
Galápagos, African safari, the polar regions, Peru. Conservation-minded journeys for the traveler who wants to feel small in the best way.
A different kind of trip
Get closer to the wild, and help protect it.
These are the trips that change how you see the world: a giant tortoise in the Galápagos, a lion at dawn on the savanna, penguins on a polar shore. I plan them the way the great expeditions were imagined, with real access and real comfort, and with respect for the places and creatures you've come to see.
As a volunteer with the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance, conservation isn't a marketing line for me; it's why I love this kind of travel. I'll point you toward operators who do it right.

Before you plan an expedition
Best time to travel
Wildlife follows the seasons: dry-season safaris, Galápagos year-round, Antarctica in the austral summer. Timing is everything, and it's the first thing I'll help you nail.
How far ahead to plan
Six to eighteen months. The best small expedition ships and safari camps are limited and book far ahead, especially for peak wildlife windows.
Traveling solo?
Expedition trips draw curious, friendly travelers, a great way to go solo. I'll match you to small-group departures with the right pace and company.
